Around my city the council have started turning off street lights in an effort to save energy meaning the walk back from the pub is now a dangerous and eventful escapade in complete darkness as you struggle to find your footing and repeatedly walk into low hanging tree branches…

But this weekend has been different, all thanks to the ‘Supermoon’

The moon appears 14% bigger and 30% brighter as it passes closer to Earth meaning my walk home was brightly light up!

I managed to get a few quick photos of the ‘supermoon’ at around 2am last night, I had to wait for the clouds to part and only had around 30 seconds to shoot it clearly until it was covered over again. Below are some photos I managed to take with my 5d mk ii and 70-200mm.
